As the Independence Day celebrations approach, AAA is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians alike. From 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd to 6 a.m. on Monday, July 8th, AAA's Tow to Go program will be available in Florida and other select states. This program offers a free and confidential ride for impaired drivers, transporting them and their vehicles to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.

The Tow to Go program has been in operation for over 25 years, successfully removing nearly 30,000 impaired drivers from U.S. roadways. This service is available to both AAA members and non-members, highlighting AAA's commitment to road safety.

Mark Jenkins, a spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group, emphasizes the importance of planning ahead: "By providing this program, AAA gives drivers no excuse for driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or impairing medications. Please plan ahead by asking a friend to be your designated driver or use a ride-sharing service. If those plans fall through, you can call Tow to Go and AAA will arrange for a safe ride for you."

    • Tow to Go provides a ride for one person and their vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.
