Rollover Accidents

Rollover Accident Lawyers

A rollover accident is when a vehicle rolls off of its wheels onto its side or even its roof. Some rollover accidents end that way, while others may see a vehicle end up back on its wheels. This type of car accident is extremely dangerous, as it puts a tremendous amount of weight and strain on a vehicle’s cabin support pillars. While these pillars are supposed to be built to withstand this level of strain in order to protect passengers, the immense force needed to cause a vehicle to roll can result in serious injuries.

What Causes a Rollover Accident

Generally, a rollover accident occurs when momentum or motion causes a vehicle to lift off of its wheels on one side of the car, turning end-over-end. It is also one of the only types of accidents that can exist as a solo accident, meaning no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

This can happen for a variety of reasons, such as:

  • Poor weather conditions
  • A tire blowout
  • An obstruction in the road
  • A poorly designed road
  • A poorly maintained road
  • A sideswipe collision (when one vehicle collides with the side of another)

Because this generally requires a significant amount of force to do, rollover accidents tend to be one of the more severe types of accidents. It is not uncommon for victims to experience injuries such as traumatic brain injuries (TBI), whiplash, broken bones, significant bruising, lacerations, and more. These events can also be traumatic, leading to lifelong complications. For this reason, it is critical that anyone who is involved in a rollover accident reach out to an attorney for assistance immediately in order to protect their rights.

Aggressive Representation for Victims of Rollover Accidents

As indicated above, several factors can combine to cause a rollover accident. Was the rollover the result of poor vehicle design? Was it caused by the negligence or carelessness of another driver? By the negligence of the driver of the vehicle that rolled over? Or some combination of these?

It is important to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the sequence of events that led to the accident and to assign liability to the responsible party or parties. When representing you, Perry & Young makes it a point to act quickly to initiate a comprehensive investigation.

Rollover Accidents in Other Vehicles

Unfortunately, some vehicles are designed in such a way as to be unstable in certain situations. A high center of gravity and a narrow wheelbase on a vehicle can make a rollover accident more likely, meaning that taller cars tend to be at a greater risk for rollover accidents.

We represent victims of rollover accidents involving:

  • Commercial trucks
  • SUVs
  • ATVs
  • Motorcycles
